Query Text:

Looking for the birth parents/relatives of LAMBERT, a girl was born March 06, 1954. I was told she was born in Frontenac, County (near Kingston, ON). I was told the birth mother (and father?) were from Prince Edward County (near Cherry Valley possibly). I was told the baby's name was Elizabeth Ann but I was also given information later on that said her birth name could have been Diane. No father or mother names were given to me so it makes the search harder because I don't know if the baby's surname was her mom or dad. Baby girl Lambert was adopted by Hicks (Elsie & Ray) of Picton, her name was then changed to Elaine Ann. The baby was only about 6 weeks old or less (I have her baby book and the newspaper clipping, I can verify that). It's possible that the birth parents knew Elsie and Ray, but they didn't tell the adopted daughter until she was about 10, that she was adopted. Only at her father's death, did she find a surname in a box; but she never mentioned other names. My mother, the baby who was adopted, died suddenly 18 months ago. (Nov. 27, 2010) It was always a concern of her's, what she genetically passed on to her two children which could be a health concern, etc. I am the eldest daughter, and have had a congenital spinal disease (only found in 3.5% of people) that is not traceable on my father's family at all. I would really like to know if any of my mom's birth family have this problem and what treatments have been helpful. I sometimes feel very alone that no one understands, because whom ever in my family tree that suffers with this, is unknown to me. I have a wonderful family on my dad's side, it's a large family from Prince Edward County (next year we celebrate our family establishing themselves a mere 160 years ago!)... I am not looking for a replacement to my grandmother (Elsie) she died 20 years ago and there is no replacing her... but I welcome meeting the family of my mom's birth. I am a single mom to a great 14 year old boy... I would like to be able to help complete the family tree for him (I am the family genealogist) and show him my complete family, not just my dad's side. THANK YOU. P.S. I realize that a lot of time has passed, that a day in 1954 you made a decision that changed the lives of you, your family and a baby... and eventually my life too. But you are a good person, you made the best choice. Of all the women in world, to have Elsie as her mom- she was truly blessed. I have some photos I can share with you, I don't expect you to want me in your family and I am not asking to be part of it. Just find out a bit of information and not bother you. I am thinking the birth parents would be about 75 now. Again, THANK YOU. Tracy
