I am a woman looking for my birth family. I was born on September 26, 1969 in Bath, Steuben County, New York. The 'Summary For Adoptive Parents' includes this: Pregnancy was of 40 weeks duration. Birth was normal, with no complications. I was 8lb and 19" long. I was born with blonde hair, but it darkened with time. Under "Description" it says I looked like a little china doll with black hair, plump, pink cheeks, deep-set eyes and a small mouth. BIRTH MOTHER: My birth mother was 17, 5' 3" tall, 120lb, with straight brown hair and glasses. She was a high school senior, so would have graduated in 1970. She majored in languages, and was active in band and chorus. Her nationality is given as Northern European. My maternal grandfather was in his 50's, 5' 11" tall, about 170lb, dark brown hair and blue eyes. He was a high school graduate and had always been employed as a skilled tradesman. My maternal grandmother was in her 50's, 5' 2" tall, 175lb, with dark brown hair and hazel eyes. She was a college graduate and once taught school. When I was born she worked as a clerk. I had one maternal uncle. He was 19, 6' tall, slender, with dark brown hair and hazel eyes. He had graduated high school, completed a year of college, and was in the military at the time of my birth. He had rheumatic fever while in high school. BIRTH FATHER: My birth father was 19, about 5' 8" tall, with a slender build, dark brown hair, brownish green eyes, and a dark complexion. He left school in the 9th grade to help out at home. He had worked as a truck driver and a farm worker. His nationality is given as Northern European and American Indian. My paternal grandfather had been separated from the family for years. He was a short man and usually worked as a mechanic. My paternal grandmother was 5' 4" tall, 135lb, dark hair, dark eyes, and a dark complexion. She was always in good health and was an industrious worker. My paternal aunts and uncles were short, the tallest being 5' 5" tall. All were said to be in good health. Marriage for my birth parents was not possible, and my mother wanted to complete her education. I was adopted by the Ketch family of Bath, and grew up there. | |||||||||||||||||||||
