Looking for information on the following: Child born on 11/25/67 at 10:49 p.m. and weighed 6 lbs. 12 oz. He was 19 1/2 inches long and had a head circumference of 12 3/4 inches. It was a normal delivery after 13 hours of labor. From the hospital, he was placed in a Stearns County foster home until 2/23/68 when he was placed in the adoptive home. The Stearns County Welfare Agency asked Caritas to accept guardianship of the baby when the mother terminated her parental rights. After a visit to the foster home, Caritas accepted guardianship on February 23, 1968. The birthmother was 19 years old at the time of his birth and had graduated from high school as an average student and did not seek post-secondary education. She is Caucasian with an ethnic heritage of German and Irish. She is five feet tall, weighs 112 lbs. and has a regular bone structure with a fair complexion. Her eyes are blue and her hair is blond. She describes herself as usually cheerful and very active. The worker believes the description of her being active as every time I have been at the home it has been neatly kept. She prides herself on her ability to do housework and to make adequate meals for her husband. They are currently living in a trailer house and she is very proud of their first home. The birthmother is a member of the Catholic Church. She worked as a laborer from January 1967 thru June 1967. This is the only real job she held other than babysitting and occasionally doing light housework during her high school years. Grandparents: The grandmother was 47 years old, 5'5" tall and weighs 250 lbs. She has a normal bone structure, hazel eyes, blonde hair and a fair complexion. Her health is described as good other than the fact that she is considerably over weight. She is not a high school graduate and her only occupation has been that of a housewife. The grandfather is 59 or 60 years old and is 5'l" in height and approximately 145 lbs.. He has a small bone structure and blue eyes. His hair is dark brown and his complexion is fair. His physical health is described as good. He is also not a high school graduate. His occupation at this time is a farmer and his salary is approximately $70 per week. His mental ability is average and his personality is easy going. Birthmother siblings: She has a brother who is 5'8" tall and weighs approximately 160 lbs. with a normal bone structure. He has blue eyes, brown hair and a fair complexion. The birthmother states he is in good health. He dropped out of school at the 9th grade. The birthmother states his personality is best described as easy going. The second brother is 5'4" and weighs 150 lbs.. His bone structure is regular, has hazel eyes and brown hair with a fair complexion. His physical health is described as good. He is a high school dropout and had poor grades. His personality is easy to get along with. The third brother is 5'5" tall weighs approximately 165 lbs. and has a regular bone structure. His eyes are blue, his hair blonde and has a fair complexion. His physical health is good. He is also a high school dropout and is currently working. His personality is quiet but easy going. The youngest brother is 4'8" tall and weighs approximately 90 lbs.. His bone structure is described as regular. He has brown eyes and light brown hair with a fair complexion. He is in good physical health. The oldest sister is 5'4" tall and weighs 112 lbs. Her bone structure is regular and she has blue eyes with brown hair. She has a fair complexion and is possessed with good health. She dropped out of school during the 12th grade because of marriage. She has been a housewife for an occupation and likes to sew as a special interest. Her personality is described as cheerful and easy going. She apparently has a strong interest in church and attends church on a regular basis. Another sister is about 5' tall and weighs 100 lbs.. Her bone structure is regular, her eyes hazel with brown hair. Her complexion is fair with freckles. Her physical health is described as good. She graduated from high school with average grades. Her personality is that of an extremely active girl. The youngest sister is 5'2" tall and weighs 125 lbs.. Her bone structure is described as regular, her eyes brown, her hair brown and complexion fair. Her physical health is described as good. Her special interest is that she likes animals. Her personality is gregarious. REASON FOR PLACEMENT The birthmother was married at the time of the birth but not to his birthfather. Apparently, conception occurred prior to the couple knowing each other and her husband was convinced that he was not his child. They felt that there would be a good deal of resentment and hostility towards this child in the family and it would be unacceptable to them.
