The adoptee was named Jennifer Denise Whitcombe at birth. Her mother's name on the birth certificate is Whitcombe with maiden name Blakey. Jennifer was born in Hackney, London in December 1954. Her mother (my nan) wanted to just temporarily foster her out just until they had a safe home for Jennifer. Foster parents were not available then so nan had to let Jennifer go for adoption out of concern for her baby's health. A health nurse organized the adoption and said she had a lovely family looking for a child but we're not sure how legitimate the adoption was. Nan said Jennifer was a beautiful baby with dark hair. She was admitted to hospital with pneumonia at about 3 months old. There may be records of this somewhere. Nan was contacted when Jennifer went in as nan was still 'next of kin' on the forms. Nan would has tried for many years to find Jennifer. Jennifer has a second family here that would love to find her. | |||||||||||||||||||||
