Looking for descendants and/or ancestors of William D. Shirley b. abt 1800 either S.C. or Tenn. A Thomas Shirley may have been his father. William D. married Jane P. Moore of Marion Co. Tenn. They emmigrated to Montgomery Co. Illinois and in 1854 traveled by wagon train to El Dorado, CA. William D had 6 children, Thomas, William Jr. and Mary, Amanda, AND Jack Breese Shirley, my gr.gr.grandfather. Disappeared after 1860 Fed California census. | |||||||||||||||||||||
