I am hoping To find either of my biological parents, any siblings or any other relatives that I may have.My married name is Catherine Lynne Tuckwiller. My maiden surname was Albright. I was born on Dec. 31st,1947.I think I was born in Martinsburg,W.Va.which is in Berkley County.I was born approximately two months early and weighed less than 4 lbs.My biological mother named me Evelyn Marie Huffman but I think she left the hospital without ever laying eyes on me. I was taken in through foster care as an infant by the two people who would later adopt me: their names were Rev. Wm. Edward Albright,Jr. And Mary Catherine Cobb Albright. As a young child I had hair, eyebrows and eyelashes such a light blond as to be practically white that darkened to a honey blond as I became older and I have blue eyes. The name of the lady who handled my foster care was Miss Lillian S. Nagy. She was the Ass' t. Supervisor of Foster Care - Division of Child Welfare. My adoption was held up because my natural mother had not given her consent to the adoption and The Department of Public Assistance had not sent data regarding my ancestry that was needed before the adoption could proceed.According to my adoptive parents,it took a very long time for these things to be accomplished. The legalities of my adoption were handled be a Mr. Chas. L. Estep and a Mr.F. Paul Chambers of the law firm of Estep and Chambers of Logan,W.Va.I was placed in my foster home on April 6 th,1948. My wadoptive parents asked to legally adopt me on June 7th,1949.I was not legally adopted until some time after July of the same year.I lived with my foster parents in Fort Ashby in Mineral County W.Va. then we moved to Amherstdale W.Va.The State Department of Public Assistance is,of course, in Charleston,W.Va. In Kanawha County. My adoptive mother once told me that my biological mother had mailed her baby clothes, toys and letters for me to read when I was older and that she even called our home a few times to see how I was doing but mother asked her to stop, which she did, and my adoptive mother destroyed everything and yet she claimed she didn't know my biological mother's name....very odd! Now you know why I have waited so long to hunt for my relatives...I waited until my adoptive parents have passed away because I would never want to hurt them.My mother also told me that my natural mother was in her mid to late 20's or maybe even into her very early 30's when she had me and that she had a job of responsibility in either a clothing or textile factory and that her ailing parents were in her care and that that was why she gave me up. I have absolutely nothing to prove any of the afore mentioned things. If anything that I have written of stirs a memory in your mind please contact me with any information you remember.I do not want to disrupt or intrude on anyone's life I will only take this search as far as you feel comfortable with allowing me to do so.I simply want to have some answers and find the "missing link/s" from my life -even if it's nothing more than my medical history! | |||||||||||||||||||||
