As I am approaching my 52nd I would like to reach out to either birth parents or siblings. I was born March 16th, 1961 in Burlington, VT and transferred to the Elizabeth Lund Home. I was adopted 9 days after birth March 24th. Time of delivery was 11:21 pm and was a breech delivery, labor was about 7 1/2 hours, I weighed 7 lbs and 19" long. I have dark brown eyes and hair, birth mother was 20 at the time and the oldest of 8 children. Being that I am the first born I would assume she had other children. Not much if anything is mentioned about the birth father. Here are some more facts. I was Baby Girl # 3260, the adoption hearing was set for December 14th, 1961 in Rutland VT. This is per the file from the Elizabeth Lund Home: Mother was a 20 year old young woman when I was born. She was a Vermont native of French and Irish extraction and Protestant faith. She was the oldest child in a family of eight children and her father was employed as a milk carrier. Mother completed 8th grade and had been employed since as a spinner at a woole mill. Mother was 5'1" tall and weighed about 120lbs. Zshe had brown hair and eyes. She listed her special interests or hobbies as dancing and television. Her health was good and she described herself as shy and responsible with a good disposition. Birth Mother's mother was 5'5" and weighed 125lbs of medium build with blond hair and brown eyes. She had graduated from high school and enjoyed playing cards. She was home as a housewife and mother to all the children but she had been a mill worker. Her health was good and birth mother described her personality as ambitious. Birth mother's father was 5'6" and weighed 185 lbs, brown hair and blue eyes, finished hgh school enjoyed playing cards. occupation listed as farmer but another place in file states dairy worker or milk carrier. Health is good, but birth mother described him as crabby, mean and keeps to himself. Very little information on birth father or family. listed as 22 year old man who was 5'4" weighed 145 lbs and of slender build with dark brown hair and eyes. Education unknown, liked dancing , fishing, and boating. He was a construction worker who operated heavy machinery, health was good and described as aggressive and full of fun. t is stated that both birth parents were no longer involved when I was born. Birth mother was very clear that she could not provide for me and wanted me to have a good home and didn't waiver from that decision. | |||||||||||||||||||||
