Caroline (Lena) Reineke -Kaase was born on April 1, 1851, in Pereberg, Prussia (Germany). She came to America to be a baby-sitter for an uncle of hers who paid her way. This was in the same area of Austin County as Gottlieb had settled in. She was on a sailship three months before landing in Galveston, Texas. She died on May 8, 1941 in Gerald, Texas (near Waco) She was married to GOTTLIEB KAASE. He was born on March 18, 1840, in Grochwitz (or Grochenwitz) Kapwig (or Koswig), Anhalt, Prussia (Germany). He came to America in 1866 as a stowaway on a ship. I'm searching for information on them--parents, siblings and records would help they are my 2nd great grandparents.
