Birth Mother's name is (?) Mary (Maria) Martinez. My birthname is Katherine. I was born 10/7/57 in New Orleans, LA. Adopted through Catholic Charities. B/M tried to find out whether I was adopted in the 80's and Catholic Charities told her to "get lost". I am registered with LA Voluntary Registry but it is run by Catholic Charities no doubt to track rather than to reunite. ~ I would love to contact B/M and/or Birth Relatives. The last info. (non-identifying info.) from Cath. Charities shows B/M from CO or NM with family residing there still. ~ I would deeply appreciate finding medical history as well as satisfying a lifelong desire to see someone who is related to me. For instance, finding out I am 1/2 Mexican explains my lifelong love of the music and the culture. I'd love to meet whoever I received the gift of music and art from. ~ LA is a most difficult place to try to find answers... couple that with the abberant behaviors and practices of Catholic Charities and it's no wonder we in LA feel a very real sense of futility.
