I'm a 46-year old female adopted in 1966 through Catholic Charities in North Central Texas. I'm interested in finding out information about my birth family. Here's what I know based on the non-identifying information I received from Catholic Charities about 26 years ago: I was born February 2, 1966 in Irving, Texas. I was adopted as an infant by a married couple who lived north of Denton. My birth mother and father were not married. My birth mother had been married and lost her husband in a fire. My birth father was married with 3 children and was separated from his wife at the time I was born. My adoptive father was originally from Oklahoma City, owned his own business and was of Irish descent. He was married and divorced prior to marrying my adoptive mother, and had a 12-year son from his previous marriage. My adoptive mother is from a small town in North Central Texas, was a stay-at-home mom and of German descent. Both came from large families. | |||||||||||||||||||||
