I seek Berg and Baer and Berman families. My known family names, verified from ships' manifests, are: my father Rudolf Berg Hilse (arr. Ellis Island in 1911 at age 4); Anna Berg, my grandmother (b. 1889 in either Karlsruhe Germany (or Carlsruhe, Pokoj, Poland before WWI; then called Germany) ; arr US 1907); her grandmother and Rudy’s great grandmother “Rasule†or “Rosalie†or “Rosa†Baer (each name appears on some document), of BadenBaden Germany. Rosa's nearest living relative August Baer (but his relationship to her is unnamed). Anna was met by Veronika Schmidt, who paid her passage and took her to New Haven, at Ellis Island.Eventually Anna married Robert Gustav Hilse, who adopted my father Rudy Berg. His birth father is unknown. 3 of my ggparents are Jewish, but I am not sure which lines or any ancestors of those mentioned here. I have taken a DNA test that linked me to the Berman families of Vitebsk Poland. Please help. | |||||||||||||||||||||
