I am searching for family members of Carolyn Cooper Wilburn. She was born in 1923 or 1924 in Enoree, SC. She had 3 sisters all were married to men who had good jobs in Textile companies. One brother was in the textile industry and the other was a shipping clerk with a large company. Her father owned and operated a Recapping and Auto Supplies Company. Carolyn attended Mars Hill College and graduated in 1947. She had 2 years of religious education. She was a bookeeper for her churches book company.She left this job due to her pregnancy. She lived in Greenville, SC. I was born in Charlotte, NC on July 11, 1956 at Memorial Hospital. I think Carolyn may have been a resident at Florence Crittenden in Charlotte. My birth father was in the service stationed in NC. Was from Texas. I do not have his name. He was 30 years old when I was born. His mother died in child birth and his father remarried. He has a half sister and brother much younger than he. His father was a rancher in the cattle business. The birth father admitted paternity and agreed to help with expenses. But he did not follow through and left the state. He had a high school education and special training in animal husbandry but did not like it and entered the service. Feb 28, 2013- I have found my birth mother's family. She is deceased but I have located and met/corresponded with aunts, cousins and sisters. They have been so accepting and welcoming.
