Query Text: |
Seeking father of John Rufus Burton, b. 1834 Pulaski County Ky. d. 1901. Buried on Scrimiger Farm at end of Tarter Cemetary Road, next to wife Mary Ann Scriminger, and an unmarked grave (Elizabeth R.'s?) Mother was Elizabeth R. Burton. Grandfather said John R.'s father was James R. The James Rufus Burton buried in Tarter Cemetary d. 1868 who was married to Elizabeth McClendon is apparently not the father. Elizabeth R. living with Martha A. in 1870 census. Elizabeth R.'s issue "Jerimiah" b.1854 lists father as "Robinson Burton." Elizabeth R. living with Martha A. in 1870 census. If this Martha A. was daughter of James Rufus and Elizabeth McClendon, and John Rufus took his middle name from James Rufus, what's the connection? Have considerable Burton research and will share it. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
