I am searching for my birth parents. I was born in Washington, D.C. on September 17, 1962. I am a bi-racial - Black/White, female. I believe my birth mother was 17 when I was born. I was living at St. Anne's Infant & Maternity Home in Maryland (perhaps it was Washington, D.C. in the beginning) until I went to a foster home at 7 months old and was adopted by the same family later. My adoption was through Catholic Charities. I received non-indentifying information about my birth mother: she was Catholic, half (or part) Irish and half/part English. Her mother was a librarian. My birth mother had hazel eyes and I believe her height was 5'4" or 5'6". I was told by Catholic Charities that my birth father was "possibly" Black, and my birth mother had not been sure that he was Black. I am definitely half Black from my appearance, so I assume he was Black. I am a very light-skinned, tall Black woman. I do not know the first or last names of my birth parents, so the name I have entered as a surname on this posting is my adoptive surname.
