I am looking for my Grandmother's birth family. My Grandmother was born Dec 5, 1915. We believe she was born in Clearfield County Pennsylvania. She remembered spending time in an orphanage in Clearfield Co., but she never took me by the orphanage where she spent time. I can see in the 1920 Census, that no children lived with David C and Orpha A Shobert. Though at that time David's father John Andrew Jackson Shobert was living with them. The 1930 Census does show my Grandmother Katherine in the household. I also found a sixth grade play program printed in the Clearfield Progress 3/28/1927 showing various parts by Kathryn Shobert. So the adoption window is sometime between January 1920 <-> March 1927. I was told by my mother that sometime around 1970 her biological family contacted her by mail, but Grandma threw the letter out without opening it. | |||||||||||||||||||||
