I was born 4th september 1968 maybe in either Sean Ross Abbey or somewhere near Limerick. I was was under the care of Sr. Hildergaard in Sean Ross Abbey, Roscrea. I was adopted from there at about 6 weeks old to my new family in dublin. About 10 years ago, I set about trying to make contact with my birth mother. Sr Sarto in Cork was dealing with this for me. My mother's first name was Breda and I believe her husband was killed in a car accident (shortly before or just after I was born). I believe I have some older siblings that may have been taken into care around that time (1968/1969)and i would love to make contact even if just for family medical history. I did receive a letter from Breda but sadly she did not want to make any contact with me. My name is Maria Catherine but I don't know if this was my adoptive name (Sr Sarto said my birth parents wanted me called Maria). My adoptive surname is Maguire.
