Please help me solve an enduring mystery in my family. My maternal GGGfather was Nathan Stokes born in North Carolina in 1818. Nathan's parents were Edmund and Fanny Stokes. Accoring to some brief family records is the statement that Nathan and his brother Whitman were raised by skave holder Edmund Blunt. Could alse Blount. Is there anyway to find out why this happened?
