I am looking for my birth mother who I understand stayed for a while at the catholic laundry in Highgate London. I am not clear about many of the facts, however I believe she was a 36 year old secretary of Irish descent. A name I have is Mary Brown. She gave me up into the care of social services immediately. I have been led to understand that she visited me in the children's home and later in the early stages of my subsequent adoption. I believe she remarried and I have a half - sister. I will be 50 next year and have been thinking about the circumstances of my birth all my life. I have little confidence in ever finding/meeting her but feel the need to reach out to see what happens.
