I have a mystery I am trying to solve. My grandmother (Ruth Marie Allen) married a Wilford Joe Lankford. Seemingly coincidentally, Wilford's Lankford parents (Ivy Caton/Charles Lankford)and Ruth's mother's (Permelia Carey, daughter of Celia Witherell and Thomas Jefferson Carey) both lived in Shelbina in the mid to late 1800's. But, Wilford was about 12 years older than Ruth and no one ever knew what the connection was. Did the families know each other or was Ruth's and Wilford's meeting and subsequent marriage just a coincidence? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
