Any information, but most desire information regarding the children or any relatives of PAULY and KLINKHAMMER and WILMS, etc. families related to: Johann Joseph WILMS---born in Blankenheim, Germany in 1858 to Heinrich WILMS and Gertrud RIQUIER-- and Anna Helena Magdalena PAULI, born in Ripsdorf, Ger.1856 to Johann PAULY and Barbara KLINKHAMMER, b 1820--who died in Ripsdorf, Germany. (Barbara's mother was Catherina WEISS, father Johann KLINKHAMMER) I have information from researcher in Blankenheim and Ripsdorf and some copies of records. Family was Catholic, Eifel area below Cologne in the Rheinland. Family name was WILLMS or WILMS on original birth and marriage records obtained 2003 from Blankenheim, Ripsdorf and Munstereifel, Germany. The WILMS and their infant son Heinrich Joseph, born Jan. 1883 in Blankenheim arrived May 1, 1883,on the SS Gellert in NYC, having sailed from Hamburg via LeHavre. They had PAULI and KLINKHAMMER relatives in Wisconsin and settled first in Glen Haven, WIS, until 1898 when they moved to Guttenberg, IA in 1898. I have obit Joh. Jos. WILMS died 1909 in Guttenberg, Iowa; Anna Helena "Magdalena" WILLIAMS, died 1930 in Dubuque, Iowa and have obit for their son (my grandfather) Heinrich Joseph, used Joseph Henry WILLIAMS in America--he died 1964 in Iowa. Also have an obit for his brother Bernard WILLIAMS. Children: WILLIAMS, Joseph Henry; born Jan. 1883 Blankeheim, Germany, d 1964, Dubuque,IA Williams, Alenis (or Alwis or Arthur)--1885, ww of March,Glen Haven to "Jas." Williams and Magletina Pauly V3-2889 (record #) (supposed to have died from poisoning when young man) Alenis /Alwis/Arthur was on 1900 census in Guttenberg, IA, and alive in April 1909 obit, but not on 1910 census. So I think he died between May 1, 1909 and Spring, 1910 in Guttenberg. May have been called ARTHUR. Williams, Barnhard--1887-May-14, Glen Haven to Jas. Williams and Magletina Pauly V3-2888 Williams, J. Kean 1888-Jun-10 glen Haven (no death info of knowlege of this son other than this Wisconsin birth record) PARENTS: Johann Joseph WILMS B 1858, Blankenheim, Germany, d April 30, 1909, Guttenberg, Iowa. (Guttenberg Press: May 1 article and May 7 death notice) Immigrated 1883 to Glen Haven, WI. with wife Magdalena PAULY / PAULI (b 1856 Blankenheim, Ger, d Sept. 1930, Dubuque, Iowa) Father: Joh. Joseph WILMS was a painter by trade, specifically a "church painter." Helped paint/restore churches in Glen Haven,WIS Prairie du Chien WIS and Guttenberg, Iowa-- probably allCatholic churches. Son Bernard also became a painter. Trained in gilding in Milwaukee we think. Married Agnes Fernette in Prairie du Chien. Agnes' father, John, worked on Ferry Boat. 1900 census lived in Prairie du Chien--several children. Bernard and Agnes finally settled in Dubuque. Had 7 children. Joseph Henry married Ivy Laura Skemp about 1914. My father Arthur Joseph, b Sept. 10, 1914 thought to be first son, but another out-of-wedlock child may have been born prior to that. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
