I'm searching for my maternal grandparents. My mother was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on May 21, 1959 (possibly at Willows Home for Unwed Mothers). Her birth mother's name was Margaret Hoover, who would have been born around 1936. We were told Margaret named my mother Ellen. Margaret was 23 at the time and was a teacher for the deaf. My biological uncle (Margaret's brother) was deaf. We were told that she was of "French-Canadian" and "Scotch/Irish" decent. I do not know the name of my mother's birth father. I know that he was 28, played the trumpet, and was a Marine. We were told that he was also of "French-Canadian" and "Scotch/Irish" decent. Her adoptive parents are Jack and Sarah Groff.
