I am looking for the descendants of Alice Armstrong Gentry of Penfield, Georgia. Alice was my grandmother's aunt. My grandmother's name was Ida Belle Thurman Armstrong. Her mother's name was Connie Armstrong Thurman Green. My grandmother moved to Alabama when she was 10 years old. She lost contact with her relatives in Georgia. This is what I was told: My grandmother had an aunt named Alice Gentry. My grandmother had cousins named Sam and Ham. By doing some research, I found an Alice Gentry on the 1910 U.S. Census. She was married to Edmond Gentry and she had two sons name Sam and Hamfrey. She also had a daughter named Lula M. Gentry. Lula marred Norman Griffin. They had 9 children as of the 1930 U.S. Census: Mattie, Jessie, Fannie, Alice, Tessie, Trever, Amy C., Ed and Alessa. I'm hoping some of them are still alive. That's all I know. I have been working on my family tree since the early 90s. I would love to make a connection with the Armstrong family. | |||||||||||||||||||||
