Need help in locating my father's side of the family. His father was Erhart(Erhard)Gehr or Gihr born in Baden Baden,Wurttemburg, Germany in October 1852. His mother was Anna Marie Geigenmuller born in Selb, Bavaria (Bayern), Germany in 1862. I know there were relatives of grandmother left in Germany. She had a sister named Christiana Viet or Veit( married name b. around 1855-1865); she had a daughter named Alma Muff( married name b.around 1885-1895) and she had a daughter Zitzmann (married name b. around 1915-1925), she in turn had a child (sex unknown) born around 1935-1940. I believe they all lived in Bavaria. My grandparents came over to Connecticut sometime in late 1880's. I do not know if they met and were married in Germany or later here in the US, although I believe the latter is the correct time period. My grandfather had at least one brother that was a Catholic Priest in Baden Baden (that I know of ). My Grandmother was German Lutheran. They had 4 children born here in the US, I am the only grandchild. I have been trying unsuccesfully for years to find some genealogical history on my family.
