The Descendants of Peter PFANNENSTIEL Peter PFANNENSTIEL was BORN 1753 in Ober-Mandershield-Treir, Rhine-Pfaz (Rhineland- Palatine), Germany, and died 1774 in Kidnapped by the Khirgiz and never heard from again. He MARRIED (1) Maria Catharina ? in Ober-mandershield/Rhineland-Pfaz, Germany. She was BORN 1727 in Ober-Mandereid-Treir, Rhineland-Pfalz (Rhineland-Palatinate), Germany and died About 1767 in Mariental, (Tonoshurovkas), RUSSIA. He MARRIED (2) Sophia Maragaretha DINKEL in Mariental (Tonokoshurovkas), Samara, RUSSIA, daughter of Nika*olaus DINKEL and Anna ? She was BORN 1750 in Wittlich-Trier, Rhineland, Palatinate), Germany Notes for Peter PFANNENSTIEL: Peter came from craftsmen of Kurtrier Kurfust and grain farmers of the town of TuTENburg/Tudelback. He is referred to as Peter at times and other times as Johann so his name is probably Johann Peter and he generally he was know n as Peter. His family was Catholic. He was captured by the Khirgiz in a raid on Mariental in 1774 and never heard from again. The 1767 census lists him and his family from Trier, Ober Mandersheid, Germany. This family adopted TWO oldest children (daughters). Their step-mother was a wife of the colonist, Peter Hertz, who died in the colony: The girls were Mary Elizabetha, Age 13, and Anna Maria, age 10 years of age. Peter and his brother Michael arrived in Mariental in 1767 with their families. The colonies, initially wre named after their leader and Peter PFANNENSTIEL was the first leader so the Colony was named PFANNENSTIEL and later changed to Mariental. Peter's wife died shortly after arriving in Mariental as she was the first settler to die. He MARRIED a second wife. In 1774 the Khirgiz raided several colonies including Mariental killing many people and taking them as prisoners. ONE of the Prisoners was Peter. He was never heard from again. In the Beideck, RUSSIA village census of 1798, the following account is given regarding the surviving second spouse of Peter PFANNENSTIEL. Sophia Margaretha PFANNENSTIEL, age 42, (she MAY have been 48) she and her son have resided temporarily in several colonies since 1784 (should have been 1774) when her husband (Johann PFANNENSTIEL) was captured from Mariental by the Khirgiz; while in these colonies she adopted these children; her son has not paid the 3 nible tax. Children are listed as follows: Johann Adams 20 (Identified as Johann Adam PFANNENSTIEL) Johann Fredrichs 8illegitimate son, surname no listed Johann Christians 6 illegitimate son, surname not listed Johann Tobias s 3illegitimate son, surname not listed Anna Margaretha 212illegitimate daughter, surname not listed Johann Adam listed can not be the same as Johann Adam born 1768 (age 30) since Johann Adam born 1768 was MARRIED with THREE children under the age of 6, living with his wife in Ober-MUNJOU (Kriwoskoje), Samara, RUSSIA Trier, Rhineland-Pfalz, Germany was probably staging area and thus many people had TWO towns listed, ONE probably being their home town and the other the staging area. There also were far more people that had Treir listed as their point of origin than probably lived in the relatively small town of Trier. Thus, the individuals listed as having originated in Trier, Rhineland-Pfalz, Germany MAY have had their home village elsewhere. More about Peter PFANNENSTIEL: Immigration: JUNE 16, 1766, To Mariental (Tonkoshurovka(, RUSSIA Notes for Maria Catharina ? Arrived JUNE 16, 1766, Mariental (Tonkoshurovka), RUSSIA Notes for Sophia Margaretha DINKEL: Sophia DINKEL was the only girl with the name of Sophia that was listed in the oringinal settlers list so she had to bone the Sophia Margarerha that MARRIED the "PFANNENSTIEL" after his first wife was the first settler to die in Mariental. Peter's brother Michael MARRIED another woman after he was released from captivity so had he MARRIED Sophia, he would not have been able to remarry since Sophia was still alive. ONE has to conclude that it was Peter's first wife who was the first settler to die. Trier, Rhineland-Pfaz, Germany was probably a staging area and thus many people had TWO towns listed, ONE probably being their home town and the other the staging area. There also were far more people that had Trier listed as their point of origin than probably lived in the relatively small town of Trier. Thus, the individuals listed as having originated in Trier, Rhineland-Pfalz, Germany MAY have had their home village elsewhere. Children of Peter PFANNENSTIEL and Maria ?
