Looking for the burial place of Elias Turner, who died in White CO IL sometime between 23 August 1834 (sold a slave) and 20 October 1834 (estate sale). I believe he had lived in Burnt Prairie TWP, possibly Philipstown area. His daughters married locals named John Mitchell Stokes and Thomas Elliott. Mary Stokes remained in area, died @1865, is buried in Stokes Chapel Cemetery. Elizabeth "Betsy" Elliott and family moved to Chariton CO MO @1834, and her mother, Mary Umphris Turner, went with them. Elias had two step-children: William Humphries and wife Cynthia Manning both died in White CO IL, and their children Henry and Caroline went to Chariton CO MO. Armind Humphries and husband Phillip Underwood moved to Chariton CO MO by 1843, when Phillip bought land. Also interested in court papers concerning estate settlement of Elias Turner, 20 October 1834, and lawsuit filed by John M Stokes in 1836 concerning same. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
