Query Text:

Looking for info on the followig family: In the 1910 census, 36-year-old Mexican native, Ygnacio Alfaro, lived in Enumeration District 60 of El Paso City and El Paso County. His wife was Librada (Cardenas), Wife, 29 years old, born in Mexico. His children were: Enrique, son, 6 years old, born Mexico Aurora, daughter, 8 years old, born Mexico Ygnacio Jr., son, 4 years old, born Mexico Virginia, daughter, 1 year old, born Mexico. Ignacio and Librada stated that they had been married for 9 years, and Librada had six children in all, four of whom were still living. Ygnacio said he was an alien who immigrated to the Us in 1905.(It's possible that some of the kids were actually born in El Paso, Enrique is supposed to have been born in El Paso on Dec. 7, 1903). They lived at 1313 Tenth Street (or Sixth street). Ten years later in the 1920 census, Ignacio Alforo (Spelled ALFORO) was 48 years old, a native of Mexico, living at 1115 South Oregon Street in El Paso. This time he claimed he immigrated in 1909, not 1905. He rented his home, He was still an alien. He said he could read and write. Under occupation, it said he worked at "Cheif Metal" -- a Tin shop His wife Librada was 38 years old, born in Mexico. The kids were: Aurora, Daughter, 18 years old, born Mexico, Occupation: Servant (in a house) Enrique, son, 16 years old, born Mexico, No Occupation Ignacio, son, 14 years old, born Mexico. Virginia, daughter, 11 years old, born Texas Ramona, daughter, 8 years old, born Texas Manuel, son, 7 years old, born Texas Lelia, daughter, 2 4/12 years old, born Texas The Alfaro's supposedly originated in Chihuahua, where the name can be found as far back as the 1600s. Some of the Alfaro's moved to California in the late 1920s. I believe the parents, Ygnacio and Librada died in 1920 and 1924. Does anyone connect to this family? John Schmal
