I am looking to find any living (or deceased) relative of my father WALTER EDWARD RUDKIN. He was born on March 5, 1905 in Unionville (Markham Twsp), Ontario, Canada and he died on Dec 7, 1975. My dad was also known as "Curly". I am one of his sons, David G Rudkin, and I am trying to locate any living relatives to find out about my father and his ancestors. My mother (his wife) was Florence Margarett Rudkin (maiden name - Morrow). I have four brothers (Edward, Walter, Ernie & Mike) and two sisters (Vera & Cheryl). My father was married previously but I do not know his previous wifes' name. He had two children from the previous marriage - Helen Rudkin (Challis) and Robert Rudkin. I understand my father had several brothers and sisters but I don't recall very much about any of them and this is part of my search (names may have been - Mabel, Charlotte, Arthur, Gordon). I am trying to find out who my grandparents were on my fathers side as I never met them. I do not know their names and I would appreciate and information anyone may have to help me identify my fathers relatives. I have located some information on a Rudkin Family who Emigrated to Canada in 1869 - William Rudkin (b. in England, died May 22, 1879 in Canada), Charlotte - wife (b. England 1830 approx - died Oct 15, 1897 in train accident in Markham Twsp) and son - William Brumpton Rudkin (b. Nov 1857. Wm B. Rudkin married Alice Armsden In Markham in 1880 and had a son William Thomas Rudkin b. Sept 29, 1880. From the 1901 census records, it shows Wm B. Rudkin living with a wife named Isabella (no last name) and three more children - 1) Charlotte, b. April 15, 1894, 2)Johnie MacPherson Rudkin, b. May 21, 1897, & 3) Albert Arthur Rudkin, b. Dec 28, 1898. The 1901 census also showed a Daisy MacPherson (b. Aug 29, 1883) residing in the same household. I have not been able to link my father to this family and i need some assistance and add'l information. Please send me an email at dgr57@rogers.com with any info you may have.
