Looking for the parents of Martha L. Archer (b. ca. 1797 in Westchester) and Allen Hobby (b. ca. 1793) of Greenwich, Fairfield, CT, married about 1819; their children, James Seymour (b. 1820, spelled "Hobbie" in later records) and Rebecca Ann Hobby were born and baptized in Greenwich; the family moved to Ridgeway, Orleans, New York sometime after 1835. Allen Hobby died in or before 1865; Martha died sometime between 1880 and 1892. James Seymour Hobbie married Mary Allen (b. 1826 in Monroe Co., New York), daughter of Isaac and Mary (Terry) Allen; their children were Clara (b. ca. 1852) and Frank A. Hobbie (b. 1855); James S. and Mary Allen Hobbie died in 1898 and 1910, respectively; they are buried in Bates Road Cemetery, Ridgeway, Orleans. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
