I am trying to find family info that I have been told just won't be found. The Cantrell family has a very strong line of Indian in it, but I cannot find any listed. Relatives that would have been in TN would have been Thomas, Issac, Noah and his brothers and sisters. I am a direct descendent of these Cantrells. Immediate family as well as distant cousins can all remember being told that they weren't to talk about the Indians, yes it was there but not to be spoken of. We believe our lineage to be Cherokee. I have found several in our family related by marriage to siblings but none directly related to us. I was raised by a mother who proudly told all of us we were part Indian, and I would like to be able to find the proof I need to help her become an official member of her tribe, she is extremely proud of her heritage.
