Hello! I recently had my DNA checked with After the test came back I found out that I am the descendant of many families of the founding pioneers of Quebec City. My DNA said I was 55% French, 25% Italian or Greek, 10% Irish and 9% Scandinavian. Let me tell you a little bit about myself so you can see where I am going with this email. I was born on August 27, 1966 in Quebec City, Canada in an Catholic orphanage. By now you probably know that I am trying to find my long-lost relatives from Quebec. I was adopted in 1969 by people from Indiana, USA. I have lived in Indiana and Michigan most of my life and currently reside in Elkhart, Indiana. Here is what I know: 1.) My birth mother has blue eyes and was born about 1946. 2.) My birth father was born about 1948 and has brown eyes. 3.) My parents were not married at the time of my birth in 1966. 4.) My birth mother was the 4th of 10 children. Her parents may have been 82 and 83 years old in 1966 (but this seems like it might not be correct unless it was her grandparents). 5.) On my baptismal papers it stated a Denise Beaulieu as my marraine or Godmother. 6.) My birth mother insisted that I have the given name of "Daniel." I was raised by Catholic nuns at the orphanage until my adoption took place. The adoption was a closed adoption that occurred in May 1969 and so I know nothing about my biological parents. I have 3 children of my own and I am recently divorced after 24 years of marriage. My children would also love to know who their family is as well. So in closing, if you know of my situation at the time of my birth in 1966 and could possibly be able to help me find my blood relatives, I welcome your help. Thank you so much in taking the time to read my email. I know that it is just a matter of time that I find my Canadian relatives and hope that you might be able to point me in the right direction. I posted this information on my website at Daniel Bilancio Elkhart, Elkhart, Indiana, USA I was born in Quebec City, Canada (in 1966) in hopital de la Misericorde (Hospital of Mercy) and lived in the attached orphanage named Creche St. Vincent de Paul until 1969. The current orphanage has had a few name changes from Residence Lemay until now it is called the Museum of the Good Shepherd. I know nothing about my biological family except that my mother was the 4th of 10 children, my grandparents were 62 and 63 years old, my father played music, my parents were not married and my godmother was listed as Denise Beaulieu. One last thing, my biological mother had blue eyes and insisted that my first name be Daniel when and if I ever became adopted. I left Canada in 1969 when I was adopted by wonderful people from Indiana who became my parents. They are now deceased and I have 4 adopted sisters. I returned to Canada in 1980 with my father from Indiana and we toured beautiful Quebec City and I had the honor of seeing my birthplace, but I was not allowed to obtain information on my biological parents. All my best to you. Sincerely, Dan Bilancio (a possible relative) you can email me at:
