MASON : TOOKE : TOOKS : TUTTS

Query Text:

I'm seeking to connect with other African Americans who know and/or have stories of their African ancestor(s) during the enslavement period: According to my great aunt, my maternal great, great, great grandmother, Rose TUTTS, was brought to this country from Africa during enslavement. She was sent to Georgia to be exact, somewhere in or around Macon Co, GA. She had a son named Floyd Mason (b.1870, d.1942), my great, great grandfather, who was raised by his stepfather John Mason. Great, great grandfather is said to be related to the TOOKS or TOOKE (surname) from Macaon, Georgia; and who relocated to Pine Bluff, Arkansas after enslavement.
