Thomas Lemont was born in 1678 in either France or Ireland. His wife Mary (surname unknown) was born in 1668. They had a son, John Lemont, who married Elizabeth McLanahan of Londonderry, Ireland, after the family emigrated to Maine. John and Elizabeth had 12 children (Mary, Benjamin, James, Nansey, Sarah, John Jr., Elizabeth, Thomas, Hanah, Robert, Samuel and David).
