I'm searching for information for John and Margaret Ann Hawkins. John came to the US about 1869. I know they had lived in Franklin, PA and Akron, and Cleveland, OH. John had lived in Canada before coming to the US. His parents, John and Sarah Hawkins were from England. John was born in 1856. He also had a brother George. John had worked as an upholsterer. Margaret was born in 1855, her maiden name was Bassett, and her mother's maiden name was Laury. The Laury family is of Scotch and Irish decent. I was told the Laury name goes back to the American Revolution. John and Margaret's childrens names were Charles, DOB, 1880. Edward, DOB, 1885, DOD, 1968. Isabelle Mae, DOB, July 1887, in Franklin, PA. She had married Earl Granville Mealy. Isabelle's DOD, July 1,1960. Harry, DOB, July 1889, and Ethel DOB, 1894. I had found a census record showing the family had lived on Jennings Ave in Cleveland, OH in 1900. I have also found a census record showing John living with Margaret's sister Louise Shepler in April of 1910. Also living in the household listed as Louise's sons were Francis Fox, George W. Finch and his wife Myrtle, and Isabelle Ulrich listed as Louise's sister. If anyone has any information on this family I would love to hear from you. Thank you! Sincerely, Cheryl | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
