I am doing a genealogy of my family tree looking for any information on my great grand mother Sarah Ann A. Maupin. she married Dr. Francis Marion Duke in Bedford County, Tn in 12-25-1872. She was born in Bedford County, Tn in 03-10-1849 and she died in 01-19-1918 in Alvin, Brazoria County, Tx. They had one child, a son named Marion Maupin Duke, born 02-15-1882. She is the daughter of Gabriel Maupin (this information about her parents was given to me by William R. Albertson ) born in Albemarle County, Va in 09-07-1810, he died in Bedford County, Tn in 03-20-1895. He married Sarah Ann America Hickerson in Bedford County, Tn in 09-01-1844,she was born 01-02-1820 in Bedford County, Tn and died in Bedford County, Tn in 07-27-1884, they had 8 childern. Mr William R. Albertson had emailed me first on aug 12th, then again in responce to my email on the 13 of aug and gave me that much information and then asked me for my address and told me he would do a print out and send me the rest of the information for it was too long to email the maupin line went way back to 1666 and he had all this information, he also asked me to email every thing i had on Dr. Francis Marion Duke and Sarah Ann America Maupin DUKE all the way up to the pressent and i did. I emailed him with my address and even put my phone # in with it, he tried calling me twice on the 14 of aug and only got my voice mail and since he didn't leave me a phone # to return his call i couldn"t reture the call. he said he would email me and i haven't hard from him since so if he's not going to follow through and mail me that information he has on my great grandmother Sarah Ann Maupin Duke and the Maupin history back to the year of 1666 then is there any one else out there that might be able to help me and have the same information on my great grandmother Sarah Ann America Maupin Duke and the Maupin family back to the year of 1666. ( i have found my great grandmother sarah ann america maupin full history of the maupin family all the way into france with amos de maupin on down the line to us so i no longer need help finding them)( i also found my great grandfather dr francis marion dukes family line all the way past col henry duke on down to us, many of the duke's out there have different opinions of the duke line and many don't agree with one another on the information that follows the duke line so no one knows whos right and whos wrong on the information on the duke's line, this inculds the taylor duke, washington duke of the tobaco plantation line as well mosely they can not agree on if james duke had a son named william and some have found records showing up with a william being james dukes son , also they can't agree on if some of the dukes at the top of the line had more childern then others have found and differences on names of some of there wifes what information i have found from other duke's information have been very confussing to one another, with some of the dukes it looks to me like they don't want to aknowlage that some of the duke's belong to there duke line)(sarah ann america maupin and dr francis where married on 09-25-1872, i know this for a fact i sent away for a copy of there marriage record through the bedford county court house, they were married in bedford county tn ) Acording to the 1910 censes given by Dr. F.M. Duke, in Brazoria county, Alvin, Tx. precinet 5, dist. 9, he had only given the name of the states that his parents, Sarah Ann Maupin's parents, he and Sarah, there son Marion Maupin Duke,his wife Elenor Mare Duke and Marion and Elenor Duke's 4 grils Adel,Elenor,Frances M., and Nancy Duke, that they where born in and his daughter-in-laws Elenor's father John Mare was born in england and her mother in indiana. My great grandfather had graduated from the class of 1871-72, from the department of medicine and surgery, at the University of Nashville,Tn. After he graduated, he was a medical exminer for insurance companies as well, in Tn from 1871 to 1876 (he work in a ofice at 325 s. cherry and lived at 296 s. cherry in 1872 in nashville, tn), then in Mo from 1877 untill 1879, then must have moved to the state of Alabama, for there only chid my grandfather was born 02-15-1882 in Alabama, again the county or city i do not know where. My grandfathers name was Marion Maupin Duke, i know in the late 1800's they moved to Alvin. Tx where the doctor had his own practics. He was born in Trigg County, Ky. in 08-19-1848 and died in the city of kerrville, Kerr County, Tx in 08-12-1913, His parents where born in Tennesse acording to there 1910 censes in Tx. I do not know his parents first name nor his mothers maiden name, all that was on his death record was his father name given as J.M. Duke and i'm not even sure if that is correct, some one else had given that information for the death record out side his family not even his wifes name was on it. My gradfather married Eleanor L. Mare in the county of Brazoria,in may of 1905, she was the daughter of John Mare(BORN IN ENGLAND) ordain baptist minister who married them and mother Nannie ( maiden name unknown)Mare,born in Indiana, they had four dauthers, Adel, Eleanor, Frances M and my mother Nancy which she throught her name was also Nannie and she changed it to Nancy. I am named after her and i am the youngest of her five childern. Is there any one out there that can fill me in on information beon what i already have about the Maupin and Duke family, beon my great grand parents? IF my great grand father Duke had sisters and brothers? If so, who are they and who are there families? Who are my great great grand parents and who where there families befor them where? Also we know we have cousins out there we never every met on my mothers side, it would be nice to touch bases with as many of them as we can and get to know them and them us, where like the lost family which became lost when my mother and her sister Marion where brought north at the age of 12 and 14 and lost contact with there side of the family, we only know are fathers side of the family whom we were brought up with. They were raised with the Duke side untill there grandmother died and they moved north in 1923, there two older sisters was kept and raised with there mother and the Mare's side, they also lost contact with them when they left Tx. My mother was only 3 when she last remembers seeing her mother and she didn't fine her older sister untill 50 years later, so please email me if you kown or have any information on any of these families.
