Nolan, Robert Arthur b. Abt 1841, Wilson County, TN, Joined Texas Rangers in Mckinny June 22, 1861 as private in 3rd Tx Cavalry, Texas State Troops under Captain Throckmorton. This was a company of 100 men from the area and the company secured Forts Wichita and Arbuckle. The unit disbanded 31 Aug 1861. He enlisted Company K, 6th Texas Cavalry, CSA, 12 Sep 1861. Parolled May 1865, listed Athens as his home. Came to Collin County from Tennessee probably with family of Wilson. Large group of Nolans/Nolens/Nolands arrived about same time from Tennessee. Names found in TN, Nolin, Nowlin. Returned to Mississippi after war and married Sharon, Move to Elkton, Giles County, TN in abouy 1869. Located in Elkton 1880. then moved to Wionna MS, then to FL, Ocala Area. Died in Lowell in Sept 1902. Was buried in a Baptist Cemetery. Need all data on grave I can get. Have more info on him.
