Seeking descendants of Thomas and Rachel Sutton Harris, Jacksontown, Licking, Ohio. Thomas died 26 Jun 1836, Rachel died 9 Feb 1832. Both buried Beard-Green Cemetery. In 1829 Thomas laid out 78 lots and named the town Jackson after Andrew Jackson. Name changed to Jacksontown. Known children are Rhoda Harris m. Abraham McDonald; Sarah Harris m. Jonathan Miller; Jesse Harris m. Rhoda Shaver; Harvey Harris m. Eliza Ann Orr. Harvey and Jesse removed from Licking Co. OH to Morning Sun, Louisa Co. IA in 1850's. Rhoda and family also went to IA then on to Kansas. Sarah died in Columbus, Ohio leaving widower and two small children. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
