I am looking for any information about John Hallett who married Margaret Leatherbury in Stafford County, VA in 1797. John was a sea captain, and after their marriage, they moved to Texas. John died, apparently at sea, and left his widow with their children to raise in Texas. She was evidently quite a woman, as she not only survived in the early Texas environment, but was the founder of Hallettsville, Texas, that became the county seat of Lavaca County, Texas.
