We are searching for descendants of ISAAC C. MCNEELY (middle name = possibly "Clark"), born @ 1808 in Georgia, died after 1870 and before 1880 -- probably in Henderson County, Texas. Isaac C. McNeely's father's name was Robert McNeely; and his mother's name was Ellender A. (Nelly) Moore, born @ 1788 in Georgia (probably in Wilkes County). Robert McNeely and Ellender Moore were married in Oglethorpe County, GA in 1803. Isaac C. McNeely was in Alabama with his family (probably in Perry County) by 1820. Robert McNeely died in the summer of 1827, leaving his wife, Ellender, a widow with nine sons ranging in age from 23 to several months. Ellender Moore McNeely never remarried. She died in Anderson County, Texas in 1868. Isaac C. McNeely married for the first time in Perry County AL on 11 Feb 1831 -- to Sarah Watson. On the 1850 Perry County, AL census, Isaac is the head of his household, age 42, with a wife Sarah (shown as age 22, which, if correct, would mean that Sarah Watson McNeely had died and Isaac had remarried a woman also named Sarah). [It is possible that he married for a third time in the late 1840s or early 1850s.] Isaac C. McNeely came to Texas from Alabama about 1855-1856 (the family may have lived for a short period of time in Louisiana, as one of the children was born there in 1856.) Isaac C. McNeely's known children are: Joseph Moore McNeely (b.@ 1838, died in the Civil War in Louisiana); Robert A. (b. @ 1840); Elizabeth J. (b. @ 1843); Nancy A. (b.@ 1844); Isaac Clark (b. @ 1847); William T. (b. @ 1849); Thomas G. (b. @ 1850); Margrett E. (b. @ 1852); Levi A. (b. @ 1856); Martin C. (b.@ 1858).
