Looking for origin and parents of David LENT born circa 1767, possibly in the Town of Cortlandt, Westchester County, NY, USA. His sister Catherine LENT married Charles Justin McCARTHY prior to 1784 in the U.S. and David is presumed to have accompanied them to Canada in 1788 to the Bay of Quinte area in Ontario where he met his future wife Ruth WILLIAMS, daughter of John WILLIAMS, Loyalist, of Ernesttown, Ontario. They married c1799-1800, and lived in Cobourg area. David LENT died 17 June 1855, aged 88 years (gravestone) and Ruth WILLIAMS LENT died 3 July 1843 aged 69. Both are buried in Lent's Cemetery situated north of Cobourg, Ontario on Lot 19, Con. III, Hamilton Township, Northumberland County. Children: James born 19 Sept 1800 married Amelia VAN DUSEN; John b. April 1802 m. Margaret BRECKENRIDGE; Ann b.circa1805 m. Robert WILLIAMS; Callahan b. 1806 m. Lydia SHURTLIFFE; Catherine; David b. c1809 m. Harriet VAN DUSEN; Lorintha b. c1811 m. David NICKERSON: Mary b.c1813 m. Isaac CONNER; Amy b. c1814 m. Samuel Ira FISHER; Charles b. c1821.
