I am trying to find info out on my great-grandmother. My grandfather's birth cert. shows her to Molley C Dorssey (Maiden name) born in Snow Hill, MD. I recently found that in Brooklyn, AA Co., MD. There was a plantation known as "Snow Hill" owned by Hammond's & then Stoll. Since this area is so very close to Baltimore City I am wondering if this is where my gr-grandmother was born. The Snow Hill in Worcester Co, I have checked out and cannot find any info. My gr-grandfather, Frank X. Hausner married Mary C. Dorsey 23 Dec 1884. They were only married less than 3 yrs. when she died in the childbirth of her 2nd child, a daughter. Therefore, my grandfather was the only surviving child from the marriage. Date of their marriage found in wedding band, but actual location has never been found. Their son, born 1886 at Monroe St., Baltimore City, MD. The obit which appeared in the Sun newspaper 21 Sept 1887 said (HAUSNER - On 31 August 1887, Mary C. Hausner, aged 24 yrs, wife of Frank X. Hausner and daughter of Dennis and Mary Dorsey. (Baltimore County papers please copy). I was able to find one census showing a Dennis & wife, Mary Dorsey with a child Mary and that was in 1860 4th Dist, Reisterstown P.O., Dorsey, Dennis age 30 yrs, Laborer b. in MD wife, Mary 25 yrs, born in MD, son James 2 yrs born in MD and daugh Mary 1 yr born in MD. Any help or information on Mary or Molley C. Dorsey and her parents Dennis & Mary Dorsey would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
