Seek the parents' names of JAMES E. HAMLER, b. abt. 1841,Green twp, Sussex Co., NJ -- 1911, Stroudsburg, PA. The parents *might* be William H. Hamler (1802, Sus Co, NJ -- 1854, Sus Co, NJ)and Noyetta (Kindred) Hamler (1808Mor Co, NJ --1871 Sus Co, NJ). Need a way to prove this though. James E. Hamler's first wife was Sarah Orner/Arner (1846-1874, NJ). They married in 1864. Their children together were Ida Hamler, Lewis Hamler, Larry Hamler, and Laura M. Hamler, b. 1870, NJ. I found Laura M. Hamler living with her Aunt Jehila (Hamler) (Fullington) Anderson in Monroe Co., PA in the 1880 PA Census. Laura's mother Sarah Elizabeth Orner/Arner died in 1874, the year that one of the children was born. James E. Hamler remarried in 1874 also: Mary Howard of Schooley Mountain, Morris Co., NJ. James E. Hamler would die in East Stroudsburg, PA in 1911 and his widow Mary (Howard) Hamler applied for his Veteran's benefits in 1920 (it would be the year that she would die).
