Joseph R. Gentry was born Aug 17, 1827 in GA. He married Mary Elizabeth Langley on Jan 7, 1849 in Campbell Co., GA. They moved to Benton Co., AL in 1850. When Benton County divided they lived in the part that became Cleburne Co., AL. They later moved to Cullman, Cullmon Co.,AL, at least they were there by 1880 and died in that area. Their children were: Martha, James Wyatt, Mary E., Amanda, and Phoebe Ann. Mary is sister to James Wyeth Langley who married Eatha Malinda Shelnut who is sister to Thomas Pink Shelnut and granddaughter to Andrew Shelnut and Elizabeth Gentry. James Wyatt Gentry married Sarah Ann Shelnut who is ggranddaughter of Andrew Shelnut and Elizabeth Gentry. Eatha was her aunt. James Wyatt Gentry and Sarah Shelnut married and later moved to Arkansas. I am looking for Joseph R. Gentry's parentage. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
