My Great grandfather Tempest Moorhouse was born in Hyde, Cheshire - on checking the GRO Records his date of birth is shown to be 1863 - I requested his birth certificate from Tameside Registry Office but they could not find it - they requested Stockport Registry to search but unsuccessful. Tempest was a Tripe Dresser in Hyde and was married to Mary Ellen Sims or Simms (I have found both spellings) According to the GRO Records they were married in Blackburn in 1881. Mary Ellen was born in Romily, Cheshire. they had 5 children: Daniel, John, Minnie, Alfred (my grandfather) and his twin brother Tempest. The twins were born in 1887 and Tempest (the twin) died in 1888 and his death is registered in Eccleshall, Sheffield (according to the GRO Records).
