I am researching the Rankin(s) families of Pike, Adams and Scioto Counties Ohio Would like info on Peter Rankin(s)and Margaret Haynes who were born in Virginia and moved to Hamilton County Ohio prior to 1840. They moved to Scioto County in 1849. Peter died in 1851. I found this census for 1851 Nile Township in Scioto M Rankins ?2 years old female A Rankins 14 years old female M Rankins 11 years old male M Rankins 9 years old male ? Rankins 6 year old male M Rankins 3 year old male S Rankins 0 years old female ********************************* At Scioto.org under Pike county > Sunfish Township Biographies> There is a Milton Rankin whose parents Margaret and Peter came to Scioto in 1849. I am trying to find out if theirs is the family in the census. ****************************** My GGG grandfather was Martin Van Buren Rankin born in 1848 and he married Martha Jane Leisure of Pike County. They show up on the 1880 census for Scioto county.
