Need information on Jacob Caldwell and his wife Sara Chard's parents. Jacob and family is listed in both the 1871 and 1881 census. They moved to Chicago, Ill after 1881. Lived in Modoc and Stirling area in Hastings County Ontario. I have a picture of Jacob Caldwells parents but no first names. It was taken in Belleview. I also have a picture of Stirling House 1871-1881 with "What a life written on the back. Jacob and Sara were my Great Grandparents. Ira and Helen Williams also my great grandparents lived in Stirling for the 1881 census. They moved abt. 1873 or so from Croydon, Lexington Addington County. Ira was postmaster there and I have a Stirling Bank Book and a metal box which he used traveling from town to town. I have two autograph books from 1886 from two sons who collected all there friends signatures and sayings before they moved to San Jose California in 1886 as young adults. Caldwells moved to Chicago where he was a Carpenter. I have pictures and memento's from this time (1882 to 1904) Jacob Caldwell died in a mine explosion at the Betsy Wilgus Mine in Cripple Creek Colorado abt 1903 when the family was gold mining. After his death they returned to Chicago. Missing so many details so please help if you can. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
