Query Text: |
I am looking for the parents of Sarah Jane Chadwell, born August 1866 in Brighton, Polk Co., MO. She had a brother, William Samuel Chadwell, born in 1869 and a sister, not sure what her name was, who was shot and killed by a passerby. I have found a marriage for Martha Irene Bradberry and William Chadwell, in March of 1870. I was told that her mother's name was Martha Irene Bradberry, that's why I followed this lead. Another possible surname may be Rule instead of Bradberry. At this point, anything is possible. Family tradition says Sarah lived in the poorhouse until she was 8. I have not been able to find a little girl in the poorhouse, regardless of her surname. She and her brother were living with different families in the 1880 Census, and her mother was living with another family as a servant. Sarah Jane married John Thomas Bryan in Bolivar, MO in 1882. They moved to Neodesha, Wilson Co., KS not long after, and eventually to Washington state. I NEED HELP! I've been trying to find her off and on for 30 years! I would think that her sister being shot would have made the papers at least, but not all papers are on-line yet and maybe I just haven't found it yet. Any help would be wonderful. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
