I am searching for information on the parents/descendants of sister Pauline (nicknamed Polly) and Getrude (known as Trudy) KAFHESKY (maiden name). At least KAFHEFSKY is the way the Polk County, IA census-takers spelled the surname. Polly was born about 1898 in Des Moines and Trudy about 1905. Polly married Harry SCHLESINGER and the couple had a son Sanford who changed his name to Stan BARNETT and a daughter, Gretta. Polly and Gertude's mother, Carrie/Anna (born in Lithuania, she did not use these Americanized names given her by the census-takers) had the maiden name Isaacson. She and her KAFHEFSKY husband were divorced and when Mrs. KAFHESKY married for the second time, it was to Dave BARNETT (also a Litvak whose name was changed when he immigrated to Pennsylvania and married for the first time before divorcing his niece, Rachel "Rae" SERRRINS and moving to Des Moines. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
