I am trying to find out information on both of my Grandparents I will start with my Grandmother. Hazel Louise Bossingham her maiden name was Demarsche. She was born in Rosebud South Dakota. Her birthday was January 3rd,1918. At one time she lived in Whte River South Dakota. Her father was Joseph Demarsche and I believe her mothers name was Elizabeth however I am not sure of this as she was very ill when she told me this. She has some siblings but I only know my Uncle Marvin Demarsche' name he was a PFC in the Marines and was killed in WWII. My Great Grandfather Joseph is buried in the Blackhill National Cemetary. I have been told that my Great Grandmother Elizabeth is possible a decsendant of Sitting Bull. Also that my Grandmother is half HaungPapa Sioux. She married Morris Bossingham Jr.(Sonny Bossingham) May 20th 1941 in Valentine, Nebraska. They have two children Larry Bossingham and Cheryl Lemcool. My Grandmother died October 1,2002 in Traverse City Michigan. Her and my Grandfather moved to Interlochen sometime in the 1940's. My Grandfather Sonny Bossingham was born on the Rosebud Reservation and lived in Mission, South Dakota. His father was Morris Bossingham Sr. I don't know his mothers name. she however is a full blooded Oglala Sioux. He had 13 siblings. I only know some of their names. Sam Bossingham, Adell, Art Bossingham. Sam and Art live in Michigan and I believe Adell lives in South Dakota (I don't know if that is exactly how you spell her name) My Grandfather served in WWII in the Army. As well as 3 of my uncles. My Grandfathers birthday is September 11, 1918. I hope all of this helps. I am really interested in learning about my native american and other history. Thank you | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
