I'm searching for the descendants of Eugene P. and Mary E. Knopf Dillenbeck. Eugene's father, Moses J. Dillenbeck, married Elizabeth Rowley in 1848 in Barry County, Michigan; both were originally from central New York. Eldest son Eugene P. was born abt. 1848-49 on the family farm in Woodland, Barry County, Michigan. (Second son Marion was born there about 1851, and daughter Sarah was born about 1857; Sarah married S. A. Duke in Black Hawk County, IA about 1877, and they had three children: Elizabeth "Lizzie" Duke Miller, Eugene Moses Duke, and Leo Fern Duke, all of whom passed away and are buried in California). Eugene first married Adelia Hitt and had two daughters, Maud and Blanche, both of whom were born in Iowa. This first family of Eugene's is listed under "E. P. Dellenbeck" in the 1880 Federal Census of Morrison, Grundy County, Iowa. Adelia died shortly thereafter, and Eugene married a second time to Mary E. Knopf of Alma, Kansas. E. P. and M. E. Dillenbeck are listed in the 1900 Federal Census of Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri at 519 Howard Street. Eldest son Selathial was born December, 1883 in Kansas City, while Lela was born in 1887-88 in Des Moines, Iowa, and Bessie was born in 1893-94 in Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska. Bessie married John Lawson and had three children: John D. Lawson, Mary E. Lawson, and Paul R. Lawson, all of whom were born in Kansas City, Missouri. Eugene and Mary's last child was a daughter named Ruth, born in Kansas City, KS abt. 1905. Ruth married John Lynch and had two daughters, Gloria and Martha, both of whom were born in Wyoming. Any information on Eugene P. and Mary E. Knopf Dillenbeck's three daughters--Lela, Bessie, and Ruth--would be most appreciated. I'm especially interested in knowing more about the Lawson and Lynch children. Thank you. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
