After searching for close to 30 years, I have recently discovered that my father, Floyd Ellis Remaly, was apparently named for a fellow by the name of Floyd Ellis, b. Sept. 1880, son of John David Ellis. In the year 1900 Floyd Ellis was living in Nevada, Missouri, with a Miss Viola Ellis at 1009 N. Ash Street. He was a 20-year-old student on that date. Who was this Floyd Ellis? I believe he may be related to me, but I don't know how. I would be very interested in learning more about this fellow -- especially as the Ellis family in Vernon County, Missouri, may be related to the descendants of Adam Nyhart, Andrew Nyhart, Estella Nyhart or John Nyhart. Nyhart is spelled over 30 different ways. My grandmother, Emma Catherine Nyhart, was the same age as this Floyd Ellis and lived in Nevada, Missouri, in 1900. She married William Edward Remaly. Both the Remaly and the Nyhart families came from Pennsylvania -- Wilkes-Barre and Allentown area. Another Nyhart grandchild in the same generation was given the middle name "Ellis." | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
